DASYLab Version 8-12 - DGH Driver Installation

Instructions   Product Photo

Present versions of Dasylab contain a method to selectively install device drivers for hardware used with the program. Users of older versions of Dasylab, that do not contain the DGH device driver, can install the driver using the following steps.

1. Download the DGH device driver file (dasylab.zip) by clicking the link on the right side of this page. Extract the .ZIP file into a sub-directory. Then copy the file dgh.dll and eveh_dgh.hlp into same sub-directory as Dasylab program.

2. Locate and open the Dasylab program initialization file Dasylab.ini using a text editor like Windows Notepad. This file is located in different folders depending on the Dasylab product version and Windows operating system.

  DASYLAB 13:

    The DGH Device Driver is already part of the version 13 trial ware file. The driver can be enabled using the Dasylab Configurator under "Packages".   Select the "DGH Device Driver" and enable it. Then close down the configurator and re-start Dasylab.  A "DGH Modules" menu selection should appear on the Dasylab main menu.  The driver is now installed.

3. Locate the word [Extend] in the Dasylab.ini file. Under that phrase there will be eight possible .dll driver files that can be specified or loaded. For example,

    [Extend]
    DLL1=DLAB_UX1.DLL
    DLL2=DLAB_UX2.DLL
    DLL3=DLAB_UX3.DLL
    DLL4=DLAB_UX4.DLL
    DLL5=DLAB_UX5.DLL
    DLL6=DLAB_UX6.DLL
    DLL7=DLAB_UX7.DLL
    DLL8=DLAB_UX8.DLL

4. DLAB_UXn.DLL is the default filename for each of eight drivers that can be loaded. The program will not load any drivers when these default filenames are used. In order to specify and load a driver, then you need to replace the first open DLLn=DLAB_UXn line with the filename of your driver. In this case, replace the first 'DLLn=DLAB_UXn' value with "DLL1=DGH.DLL". For example,

    [Extend]
    DLL1=DGH.DLL
    DLL2=DLAB_UX2.DLL
    DLL3=DLAB_UX3.DLL
    DLL4=DLAB_UX4.DLL
    DLL5=DLAB_UX5.DLL
    DLL6=DLAB_UX6.DLL
    DLL7=DLAB_UX7.DLL
    DLL8=INET.DLL

    NOTE: Most importantly, do not add a DLL9=DGH.DLL as DLL9 is not a valid entry and the driver will not load.

5. Save the file changes and close the text editor.

6. Run Dasylab and 'DGH Module' should be located on top menu bar of screen.
