The DGH A2000 series converters convert RS-232
communications signal levels to the correct electrical signals required by
RS-485. RS-485 is recommended when many DGH modules, or other addressable
devices, must be connected to a host computer over long distances. The A2000
converters allow communications bus lengths up to 4,000 feet and baud rates up
to 115.2K
baud using one twisted pair of wires.
Therefore, host software written for half-duplex RS-232 may be used
without modification. The RS-485 bus control is completely transparent to
the user. Use the CA-2 cable
to connect to a host computer 9 pin serial port. |

The A2400 converter performs an RS-232 to RS-485 conversion and provides handshaking signals for those applications where data flow must be
synchronized to a communications device. Devices such as radio or leased-line
modems sometimes require that handshaking signals be asserted before data can be
transmitted thru them.
The A2400 provides an active Request-to-Send (RTS)
signal and contains optional Clear-to-Send (CTS) support.
